Johrei (pronounced Jo-ray) is a spiritual energy healing for the whole person that does not require physical contact. Johrei brings universal life energy into focus in a specific way and is administered with an upraised hand directed toward the receiving person. We believe, as in many different spiritual practices, that this universal energy emanates from a divine source. This purifying energy is specific for this time for the enhancement of our spiritual consciousness and our physical well-being-- affecting spirit, mind, emotions and body. Who developed the Johrei method? The Johrei Fellowship was founded by and is based on the teachings of Mokichi Okada (1882-1955), spiritual scientist, philosopher, healer and master artist. Johrei was originally revealed to and developed by him to fulfill his mission to help all of humanity. Through a process of working with this “divine radiation” he showed individuals how to be vehicles to transmit this energy to help others. Currently, over one million people around the globe are practicing Johrei. What is Sangetsu Flower Arranging? Sangetsu Flower Arranging is based on Mokichi Okada’s philosophy of raising one’s spiritual level through cultivating appreciation of natural beauty and art. The Sangetsu School of Flower Arranging offers classes and workshops in various locations nationwide. NaturFarming® is a method of farming and gardening that brings out the natural energy of the soil, by vitalizing it and bringing it to its fullest potential. It is a method of growing fruits, vegetables and grains uncontaminated by pesticides and other unnatural substances. We believe that foods produced and consumed through this natural process foster true health and vitality. How long does a Johrei session take? A typical Johrei session takes about 15-20 minutes and does not require physical contact. The Johrei giver focuses this energy on the front and back of the receiver. Is there a fee for receiving Johrei? Johrei is given on a free-will donation basis. Your tax-deductible donations of gratitude allow us to help many people at our Johrei Center. Those who administer Johrei are unpaid volunteers. They do so as a service to the community because of their gratitude for the benefits they have received through Johrei.
Johrei receivers have been shown to experience a feeling of deep relaxation and revitalization. Others report a reduction of pain, relief from depression and an increased sense of well being. Research findings have also shown that Johrei, when received repeatedly, activates natural killer cells in the immune system. The process of Johrei is cleansing of the spiritual body - When the spiritual body of a person is purified (cleansed) and the physical body is gradually freed of toxin, then the very causes of human suffering are removed. This results in healthier and happier individuals. What are the basic tenets of the Johrei Teachings? We
believe that the source of this healing energy comes from a divine source. The
nature of this Energy is always benevolent. We follow and practice the
Teachings of Mokichi Okada. He demonstrated the importance of truth,
goodness and beauty and shaped these principles through prayer, service and
action. What is the relationship of Johrei Fellowship to other religious and spiritual organizations? We are a non-profit, multi-cultural, multi-faith, service fellowship with a belief in the Divine Spirit. We respect diversity and all spiritual paths. We see ourselves as a medium for transformation; personal responsibility towards one’s spiritual growth and a support for individuals seeking prayer and service. We believe that we can share Love and Light through our teachings with all religious denominations and spiritual groups. Are you interested in helping others? You too can give Johrei! Giving Johrei is a service to help others. If you have this desire, we invite you to experience Johrei, and to take our curriculum. Classes and Membership.
A fee-based series of
interactive and experiential classes are available. The curriculum covers
the principles of Johrei and living in accord with universal laws. Our movement
is universal and our service is the offering of Johrei to people. Representatives from these boards conduct the business affairs of the ministry. The Centers have a minister and/or lay leaders who provide spiritual and administrative guidance. We are supported solely through the expression of gratitude and appreciation from individuals. A Johrei member believes in the truth of the Teachings and supports that truth with love and services as fully as possible. Heartfelt gratitude can be expressed through the gifts of time, labor and money. We do not ask members to pledge specific amounts to support the Center and our work. However, we focus on the spiritual value of tithing and personal responsibility of spiritual and material support, based upon one’s means. We encourage participation in the Center through attendance, prayer and active involvement. Everyone is welcome to attend Johrei services, observed every second Sunday of the month. This is an opportunity to connect deeply with the healing Light of Johrei. Services are followed by a potluck lunch for a relaxing time and to get acquainted with the members. We also have special prayer services throughout the calendar year to commemorate significant events in our history.
